Karen Wilding Education: Passionate about giving children a life-long love of mathematics
Are you aiming to raise standards in the learning and teaching of maths?
Do pupils see the application of maths in their everyday lives?
Is there a clear focus on the giving each child a ‘mathematical toolbox’ of skills which are constantly used, applied and refined?
Karen Wilding Education is committed to raising standards and promoting positive attitudes in mathematics.
When children see the application of their mathematics their natural curiosity is harnessed and their enthusiasm for learning enriched.
Karen Wilding Education begins by focusing upon the explicit skills (the 'tool kit’) every learner needs to build in order to be a truly effective mathematician. Teachers are supported in taking back their ownership of the maths curriculum building their confidence and ability to continually reflect upon what their learners need in order to be successful. Engaging and relevant contexts are used to give children a reason to apply their growing skills and recognise the many connections between mathematical concepts.
Training and support is offered in the form of PD Days, staff meetings or in-class support on a 1:1 basis. High quality courses covering a vast array of mathematical areas are on offer throughout the year.
All sessions are planned following detailed consultation with your school and are totally bespoke to your needs.
Karen Wilding provides high quality, bespoke maths training and support for schools all over the UK. In addition to many exciting UK based projects, Karen is also a co-writer for the Bahrain Numeracy Strategy, producing materials and lesson plans for a new nationwide Middle Eastern maths curriculum.
